Whats a ragged out 98 TA worth in parts these days?
It runs good doesnt smoke but does have 170k on it. It has been repainted once and the interior is well worn. There is no title because the guy who owned it died and his folks refuse to mess with it or do the paperwork for getting a title. I am interested in it for the drivetrain. They want $2000 for it and i am thinking its a pretty decent deal but i am wondering what i could reasonably expect to get for the rest of the parts once i keep the engine and transmission. Thanks

Heres my guesses with "worn interior" Guessing the typically f body problems
Front Bumper - 200-250
Fenders - 150 Ea
Doors - 150-200 Ea
Sail panel - 150 ?
Wheels/ Tires - 300 depends on if abs 'chrome' and wheel condition + tire condition
Rear Bumper - 150
Exhaust with tips - 75
Dash with cracks - 75?
Worn/broken center console - 30-75
Window motors/Switches - 150
Door panels with cracks - 100-150
Hatch+spoiler - 250
Side glass - 35
Stock gauge cluster - 40
Rear quarters if you have the means to take em off - 150 Ea?
rearview mirror - 25
Other Interior panels - 150-250
Worn carpet -Shampoo first/steamclean - 50
T-tops with key - 150
Windshield - 20-50
Stock flat hood - 50-75
Taillights if in good shape no lamenating/heavy scratches - 200-250 (Should fetch 300 if in perfect shape)
Headliner - If fabric is sagging, can still use for the board - 50-100
Two Triangle rubber piece attatched to the door/windows - 25
Wipers+Wiper motor - 50-75
HVAC Dials+Fog light button/ any interior switches - 25-50
Hatch struts and hood struts - 15-35
Shifter boot if in good shape - 25
Rearend- 150
Cd player - if stock - 25 , aftermarket - depends
Stock suspension will be a hard sell with 170k on it.
Sell shell for 200 or take to the scrap yard for a few hundred I think.
So imo if you know what you are doing parting a car out you should be able to come close to funding the purchase if you don't consider your time as money. The drivetrain with 170k is worth 1300-2000 pretty much itself. Overall, you should be able to at least pay for the drivetrain by parting it out.
