Default 2002 WS6 114k miles...Whats it really worth??

I am really interested in this car but the dealership is asking a ridiculous price for this WS6 with 114k miles on it. From the pictures, the car looks in very nice shape.

Lets just say this car is in excellent condition for the year but has 114,xxx miles.....Whats it really worth?

Thanks

In the past year I've seen 2001/2002 automatics with 35K miles priced as low as $12K. A 2002 A4 WS6 with 45K miles is typically a $12,500-$14,000 car....at least it's been that way since 2011. This dealer is not going to do you any favors. Under $10K seems about right...assuming it's clean. Much better buys out there with much lower miles.

That's what I figured.
I called the dealer last week and basically told him I was very interested in the car but it's priced way high. He said, really?...you know how rare these cars are?..blah blah blah. ..

Ws6's aren't super rare but I'm strictly in the market for a 2002 white/ebony WS6 and locating one has been challenging. I've been finding more with very low miles and priced around $20k, not what I'm looking for since I'm going to mod it.

The car I posted is what I'm looking for but the price is not even realistic. The dealer had a cocky attitude and no desire to really even talk about a deal. He said "I don't think we're going to have a problem selling this car, we've been getting alot of calls on it"

Yeah that's overpriced, here in Nebraska there was a guy I saw posting his 2001 Ws6 with 108k miles for only 7,200. It was a clean ws6, and it was not molested and completely stock, wish I didn't buy two camaros or I would have jumped on this deal.

By requiring white/ebony you've made your task 10X more difficult than the next guy just looking for an A4 WS6 with high miles. Across the country there are only a couple such cars with 100K or more miles and priced right. From what I see most sellers want $13K-$15K even if that's sort of ridiculous. On Autotrader.com there's a single car in Virginia meeting your requirements (103K miles at $10,999 from a dealer). So you're search could take a while. If the Indiana dealer thinks their 114K mile car "looks new," they are clearly blind.

They will continue to get lots of calls on that car, but no buyers at that price. By late August it should hit them that summer is running out of time. Keep in touch with them and/or give them a price you'd be willing to pay. Trade-in value is around $8K while high retail is approx $11,500. The WS6 is so "rare" that are 100 or more of them for sale around the country at any time. All you need is cash and willingness to travel a bit. So rare, yet they made more Trans Ams. A dealer could/should get $10K to $12K for this to an interested party. It does look pretty clean for that mileage. How do they know it's been babied since day 1? What's the owner history? How many of these have they handled in the past 5 years?

The last time I ran across a white A4 WS6 that I considered buying was in 2011. That one was a 1998 with 15K-19K miles and asking price of $14,500. It sold pretty quick too. For every one of them priced right, there are 8-9 that are not.

I learned my lesson with my first car. If you plan on modding a car, buy one with the mods already done or most of them anyways. You will save so much money. Or buy a higher mileage, untouched car for cheap and then go about modding. Then if you ever want to sell it, part out the mods, and put the car back to stock and sell it. You get most of your money back that way.

I passed up this deal because I wasn't in the financial position but this is what Im looking for. Still kicking myself for not jumping on it.

Yeah the dealer is jackass. I called him yesterday to tell him it was overpriced and got the same response. I ended up buying a 2000 Trans Am with 46k miles for only 9k. Really wanted a 01-02 WS6 but couldn't pass up a deal like that.
