I was wanting opinions from seasoned veterans..

IMO the condition of the exterior is pretty rough, I wouldn't pay more $1000

Sounds about right for a t56 car.
Remember that tranny can be sold for 1500 to 2000
will not bolt up to a LS without some money, but a lot of old school guys with SBCs want a 6 speed

Fuel pump issue - What does that mean? If the car doesn't start , run and drive you'll have no idea what your getting engine, transmission, rear end, brake and AC wise etc.

If the fuel pump is bad and needs replaced, if a shop does your looking at $500 to $700 depending on the shop labor rate etc.

Easily $3,000 to $7,500 in paint and body work to make the exterior look good again at unless you and friends can paint.

Looks like a money pit and buying the car for $1,500 will be the first of many "$500" repair "payments.

I would find a nicer LT1 car for $4,500 to $6,000 that's in better condition that will save you money. If you your wanting a problem and don't mind doing a lot of work and spending money to buy parts and sort the car $1,200 is what I think the car is worth.
