Default Just ordered 18x.95 rims should I go with a 35 or 40 tire?

Just ordered polished 18x9.5 z06 wheels all 4 corners. I want nitto 555 tires. I am at stock height so should I go with 275/40zr18 so that is fills the wheel well a little more or the 275/35zr18? The 40 is basically 1" bigger diameter.

thanks

Nice.
But, reason why you didn't go with 10.5 in the rear?
I went with 275/35 for my 18's, And i am lowered on Sportlines.

I want all the tires the same so I can rotate them and I dont want to do any BFHing or cutting of bump stops. Hrm, so since I am not lowered 40's may alieve the offroad look or not?

275/40/18s normally cost less than 275/35/18s

Check-out this thread there's a few cars in it that have 275/40/18s front and rear. https://ls1tech.com/forums/wheels-tires/1011193-lets-see-them-18s.html

275/35/18.

If you go with a 40 series your MPH will be off. Compared to the 35, if your odometer reads 65, you will really be at 68mph with the 40.

No. You'd need to recalibrate the speedometer.

I went with 305/35/18 nitto 555r on my rear z06s (18x10.5) and I felt like the 35s were too big when lowered on eibach prokit. I now have to roll my fenders.

I'd go 275/30/18 if you can.

go with 35's other wise you will risk slicing the tires since the 40's are taller.

http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

They have a nice calculator to put in stock size then see what difference a different size tire will make.

HUH? Yes the speedo can be changed in the tune thats how you recalibrate it. So if you do get the 40 series tire when you get the tune they can fix the speedo. I have the 275 40 18 and they do fill the gaps a little better on a non lowered car, but they are up for replacement and I am cosidering 35s so i can lower it. heres a pic

I have 275 40 18 on all four corners and in my opinion if you dont want to lower it they do look better than a 35 series, but they do rub on sharp turns! Heres a pic of mine!

Wow you guys have helped me greatly. Thank you.

I will go with 35s because I want no rubbing issues. If it were a matter of just changing the tune I would have gone with 40s. Thanks again.

Your car looks good. With the 40's. The rubbing thing is not very good at all though.

Thanks for your input.

Unless you have the wrong wheel offset 275/40/18s are not going to rub in the rear.

Thats because the sidewall is a percent of the width. So your 305/35/18 will have a bigger sidewall then a 275/35/18. Thus your minor issue.
