Hub Rings Didn't Fit????

Hub Rings Didn't Fit???? ok i bought ruff 278's and put them on about 3 weeks ago. From what i hear you have to use the hub rings but when i went to put mine on the rings didnt fit and would make the rim crooked, but without them the rims fit fine.
should i worry about this and get some that fit or just leave them off?

I don't have my ruff 278's on yet, but it's good to find something like that out beforehand. Hopefully by thanksgiving I'll have them on.
