When I had 10 spokes, I wet sanded the center cap and then repainted it. Turned out pretty good actually.

A cleaner wax should take it right off . . . Thye typically dissappeared after a few years all by them selves . . .

I used a rubbing compound and it came right off. You can usually get it at any auto parts store or wal mart

A cleaner wax, typically has some very minor abrasives in it . . . They are available from and Auto Parts Store . .

Other options would be a product such as Meguires #2 or #3 polishing products. 3M would also have cleaner / polishing products.

Rubbing compound would work, but that is pretty aggressive . . IMHO.

It will not take much . . . the bowties on my painted 10 spokes dissappeared

The rubbing compound isn't so extremely aggressive that you couldn't use it on your wheels/center caps. Its just the easier option imo
