Default Is There a Way To Restore My WS6 Wheels?

Well, my WS6 wheels (i'm guessing) have been on the car since it was made. They've got a fair share of scratches. they look great from a distance but if you get up close you can see everything. Their not HORRIBLE but not perfect either. So what i'm asking is, is there some way to restore the wheels to a like new finish. I don't know what you can do with these wheels, I don't know what their made of either.

Any help is great, thanks!

Its usually a pain from what I have heard, but you can strip the clear coat off and then polish the wheels. Hopefully theres an easier way out there before attempting that.

I've got probably the same wheels you have on my '02. I plan to have the powder coated the next time I put tires on them.

I just bought a set of ws6 wheels that had the clear coming off them. it took me 6 hours of stripping the clear off and polishing them but it was well worth it.

I would have to re-clear them afterwords right? What are some products I could use to strip off the clear?
Also could I still do this successfully with the wheels still on the car

Those look sweet. What did you use to strip the clear? did you take the wheels off?

I used kleen auto strip, you can get it at autozone or any other auto store. Yes you have to take the wheels off the car but you don't have to take the tires off the wheel. It does take some time but it is well worth it in the end.

Yes, take the wheels off... If you splatter any of the stripper on your paint... don't even wanna think about it.

That actually looks pretty good with the clear off! I might think about doing that myself.

Yeah, it does, lol. Does anything physically happen to the appearance after a while if you don't polish them, since the clear is gone

Yep, they will get very dull looking. After a couple of weeks w/o polishing, it would probably just take lots of elbow grease to get back the shine, but after months of no polishing, it will take a lot more than that. So, if this is your daily driver and you dont want to keep up with it, strip the paint, polish, & re-clear.
