Cleanning TT2's is this stuff safe to clean TT2's http://www.superiorcarcare.net/megui...rightener.html i herd it works very well but dont want to ruin my rims they sat for over a year so not even metal poish and the powerball works i also tried never dull and it worked ok but not so good |
i don't know about that stuff, but using some dawn dish soap to clean them as well as possible, then using aluminum wheel polish should get them sparkling again....it just may take some old-fashioned "elbow grease" because they've been sitting for so long. the best way to keep this from happening again is to: 1) wash them at least every month or two really well, and 2) re-polish them ever 4 - 6 months don't let them sit for that long if it can be helped. |
Well Meguiars is a safe brand but never tried that one when I had my TT2's, have you tried Mothers? |
ive tried the billet polish and another one from mothers with the powerball and they really dont get that clean |
anyone???? |
my old TTII's would extremely nasty during the winter and it always took a good 4-5 hours of elbo grease and a whole bunch of terry cloths(sp?) with mothers aluminum polish. But I will say that the wheels damn near looked chrome everytime when I was done. |
DO NOT USE THAT ON YOUR WHEELS. It will eat them alive and the only way you would be able to reverse the damage is sanding them down. I use it at my work and it is the best of the best to clean any wheel except a bare aluminum wheel. I am speaking from experience for i already made this mistake:bang:. I use Mothers mag and aluminum polish on my TTII's and it works excellent:nod:. link http://www.mothers.com/02_products/05100-05101.html |
yea ive tried the mag and aluminum polish and the billet polish with the powerball and i really dont get any results is there some kind of acid i can use or am i going to have to wet sand them and repolish them |
anyone else know of an easy way i herd of someone using some type of acid on it |
I use SmithBrite on mine |
I bought some Magic Eraser sponges that are for polished aluminum wheels, bumpers, ect. this morning so I plan on trying this. I'll let you know when I do it. |
