best dr's for a dd

well i have heard that some dr's only last like 4,000 miles (m/t) and other misc. bad thing about others. i dont drive my car in the winter. but i would like to get some miles out of them and be able to drive in the rain. also how big can i go on stockers? -thanks

depends on what "stockers" you're running. 1f you have 17x9.5 wheels, i would say 275's to be safe. you CAN not run a nitto 315 on a 9.5 inch wheel. There is much speculation about this. Some people have, Though, this is NOT me recommending you to do so. Check the sticky section. as for 16x8's, i think the recommended size is 255 or 265.

i run a 315-35-17 nitto DR on my car. This is on a 10.5 inch wheel. Tread life is amazing. I have a couple track days, and probably 5K on them, and they're still 60-70% tread.

The Nitto's wont grip quite as good as the BFG's or M/T's etc. but will last significantly longer on the street and work ok in rain so I would suggest them for your needs. I personally run 255 M/T's on some 16x8 salad shooters and wouldn't think you could go any bigger than that and be safe assuming your stockers are 16x8 as well.

+3 on the nittos...run them on my 69...alot better traction than a reg tire...wont hook so good u break stuff and handle good in rain and on hwy...

i would say nitto dr's. i ran those for a street tire for a long time. good in rain. tread last alot more then the bfg's. thats just my personal opinion.

How long do the bfg's last? I put at the most 3k miles a year on my car. I dont really want to run M/T's because I dont want to be buying tires once a year, but I want a tire that will hook.

m/t'S

M/T for a weekend/ or nice day car. Heard the Hoosier DR are kick ass to.

Since you said you want them for a dd and to be able to drive in the rain, definitely the Nitto's. I ran Nitto DR's on my car for around 30k miles and I drive 600 - 700 miles a week. Rain was no problem. MT's or even the BFG DR's are NOT tires you want to drive in the rain regularly.

Nittos lasted on my car with a 408 for about 16,000 miles, the BFGs only got about 5,000 miles although they did hook better but were absolutely terrible in the rain.

DD /track 2-3 times a year, one set nitto' @4200 miles, one set nittos @ 3200 mles , one set MT' @1500 miles all were 275/40/17, MT hook best not good wet
