315/45/18 Nitto's? I'm planning on getting some O.E. Concepts Z06's. What would it take to get the 315/45/18 Nitto DR's to fit. The rims are the 18x10.5. Hardtop Camaro I've searched this topic a few times and can't find a simple answer. Anyone know of that company is good? I've never heard of O.E. Concepts |
Re: 315/45/18 Nitto's? That tire is way too tall. That tire was designed for the F150 Lightning. |
Re: 315/45/18 Nitto's? that 315/45/18 is a 29" tall tire. that is HUGE. try the BFG new drag radial, its a 315/30/18, it seems to work for me and a few others. |
Re: 315/45/18 Nitto's? ok, Thanks. Where could I get the new BFG drag radials in that size? Will they last as good as the Nitto's? How bad is driving in the rain after they wear down some? The car is my daily driver, over the winter I plan on supercharging it. The tires I have now are Cooper Cobra's. They lasted about 10,000 miles. |
Re: 315/45/18 Nitto's? I personally would not drive them on the rain, but that is me. they really don't have any water channels. and lasting as good as the nittos, it all depends on driving style. |
Re: 315/45/18 Nitto's? I have to be able to drive in the rain. The only other ride I have is a "crotch rocket". I got 10,000 miles out of my last set of street tires, so I guess I'm pretty hard on them. Anyone know if O.E. Concepts are good? Will the 18x10.5" rears fit or will something have to be modded? What would be a good tire to run on a 500hp+ daily driver that will fit those rims? |
ttt please |
Looking at the OE Concepts wheel their offset is maximized for a Corvette. You can get the 58 mm to work with minor inner wheel wheel mods, the problem IMHO, is the offset is too great and make the wheel move into the wheel well and actually look narrower. There are makers out there, and I beleive Todd at Discount Tire Direct has them - with a smaller offset closer to 50 mm. Tires, Kuhmos are a good inexpensive route, so are Yokohama's, Nittos, Firestone, even BG's can be found reasonable |
I looked at the discount tire direct web sight and the only two offsets they have listed for the 18x10.5 in chrome is 58 and 61. Do they just not have them listed or does anyone know where I could get them with a better offset? I would like for the rear to look wider than stock. |
