I used to run Kuhmo ecstas (Z rated) all around and liked them fine for general purpose (before serious modding to the car). They did not break the Bank either. Good traction wet and dry. Hard tire so not good choice for too much street killin or occasional track duty. Mounted Nittos on the back to solve that problem and have run that combo for 2 years. MT/ET,s on back for track duty.

I've only been running my BFG g-Force Sports for about a week but they are WAY BETTER than my old Kuhmo Ecsta 712s (summer tires). Handling is much improved, never had this much traction, and they are quiet. It almost feels like I have a new car. BTW I went from 17s to 18s also when I got the new tires so I am sure that has something to do with it. Also, I was expecting a harsher ride with the 18s but these tires seem more comfortable than the 712s. I got them from discount tire directs ebay store for 687 shipped (they had a 5% off sale going on and I used a 10% off live.com discount), 275/40/17s will be even cheaper.

what is your price range... the goodyear gs-d3 will crush everything mentioned, but runs around 230$ a tire for 275/17s. the zri is about half that, but about half as good.

well, im currently running goodyear gs-c's on the back and kuhmo ecsta on the front. 230 bucks a tire it kinda steep, but i want a good tire thats going to last.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...irePageLocQty=

The ZIII beat the other tires in the test, and would be behind only to the likes of the Michelin PS2 and Pirelli Pzero, both expensive as hell. The Nitto NT-05 and Kumho XS will also have better grip, but much shorter life. They're not meant to be D/D friendly.

It's far from the same tire as the HTRZ and ZII's..

I wanted the GS-D3s for my 17s but since I upgraded to 18s I didn't want to pay 290+ per tire, but if you can afford them, I have heard great things about them.

GS D3s are the worst tire for a DD IMO. They wear so damn fast. Look into Riken Raptors. They are made by Michellin and I have heard nothing but good things about them. I am going with them for my next set of tires. Summit has them for $99 a tire

I have Fuzion Zris in 275s. They grip decent for the price, but they are noisy as hell.

I am running BFG Super Sport A/S. They are great in the rain and pretty sticky on dry pavement. Noise isn't too bad and they have a 400 treadwear rating.

Just picked up the Sumi ZIII's. For $111, you're not going to find a better summer tire.
