Default Race Star Industries

Just figured i would pass on the information. I just talked to a dealer and he said that the company "Greg Weld" did go out of business after he passed away but another company bought them out and are still producing the wheels. This companies name is Race Star. They will no longer have the greg weld logo on the center cap they will now have Race Star Logo but will be the same wheel. Also they have been redesigned to accommodate for the LS1 f-bodies to fit the factory calipers.

okay now that i have completed my order do not mind sharing the company from which i ordered them from. The company that has them is Jim's Racing Tires http://jimsracingtires.com 1-800-281-0409

I just ordered my 2-15x10 7.5 backspacing for $402.00 shipped with free open or closed lug nuts. He said that i just spoke with the company that is producing them and that they are doing the testing on these right now. He should have his shipment in either middle or the end of september.

Sorry..... link is fixed now!!

He still doesnt not have them up on his site yet due to delivery not coming in till next month, this is why i also posted up his number. I was just calling trying to find any place that might still have some in stock and i happen to get a hold of this guy. He said he is one of the biggest dealers on the east coast. He also actually told me that his sons are members on this site as well. So if they are i would hope they would chime in and confirm this.

yes the same ones that i already had on the car just the correct backspacing.

These are the greg welds on my car with the wrong (5.5) backspacing:

They are supposed to look the same just been redesigned to fit for our brakes. I will be sure to take pictures of the new ones and post them up.

I've been going to Jim's for 20 years...He's local to me and is the biggest distributor of Weld and Greg Weld wheels on the east coast...He also carries all lines of M/T and Hoosier tires and his prices are better than Summit and Jegs...He's an old racer from way back and is great to do business with...He was very frustrated when Greg Weld had originally promised the rears that would fit our cars and then didnt deliver...I'm sure he's in contact with the company producing the wheels and wouldn't spread bad info...I hope it works out...

He told me that the new owners/manufacturers of the wheels have already produced a proto type (if you will) and that they are in production to be released the middle to the end of this month. Hopefully all goes well. Im getting close to having the car back on the ground under its own suspension. I will probably also be getting my tires through him as well.
