Offset Guru's Please
 

Maybe its not that hard of a question, I just couldnt seem to find the data. I have a rearend thats 2 inches shorter than stock and Im looking for what offset I need for a 17" or 18" wheel with no spacer if possible. Currently using the stock wheels with a 1" spacer.

Anywhere from a +14mm(+39mm normal rear end width)to a +25mm(+51mm normal rear end width) with the 2" shorter rear end(1" per side).

I dont know why we dont have more offset info, you should see what the rx7,240, and 350z guys fit onto there cars...

I agree. A little more info about stock wheel offset's/etc would come in handy. I tried googling it with no luck. So I assume that I could get a pretty dished wheel then with that small of a wheel offset?

Stock wheel offset is 56 mm on Camaro an Firebirds.

If you are running a 1" spacer, then you would subtract 1" from 56 mm leaving you with a new offset of around 30 mm . . .

i have my rear shortened 1" per side so same as u and have the same problem.
if you go with a 9.5 wide wheel and a 275 tire, your offset can be as high as ~+40-45. you might be able to go more but it gets riskier.
i have rpm 505 wheels(+38) that are 19x9.5 on vredestein 275/30/19 tires and they fit fine with the bfh. i cut my lca's where they curve to gain more clearance. so for sure a 38mm or less on a 9.5 wheel will work.

my original plan was to run 20x10 rpm 505's that have a +10mm offset but i changed my mind on trying to launch on 20's. so if you're ok with a 20x10, 505's have the offset for you.

if you go above 9.5 wide wheels, it gets troubling.

i like tucked wheels so i'm in the range of +15 to +30mm. hard to find wheels that are 11" wide and have the 0-30mm offset for our cars.
something that might work are the zr1 17x11 +36 offset with maybe a ~1/4" spacer.
i can get my ttm 17X10.5 +44 wheels and sumi 315's to fit but there is work and offset lca's are good to have. i had to do a lot of bfh and trim a chunk off the lca's. it's also centered with adjustable panhard. i used a 6mm spacer to gain more clearance from the lca. it barely clears but enough for daily driving...not too sure about launching hard without the offset lca's.

otherwise offset lca's and a minitub should enable you to run what stock length rear ends are running on here and you'll still be tucking 1" or so of the tire.

I think i found my wheels :) The rears will be 18X9.5 with a 20mm offset and the fronts will be 18X8 with a 35mm offset. Will i have any issues? tires will be 245/45/18 and 275/40/18

you'll clear a 9.5 with nothing needed.

Just to be clear the fronts need to be between 38 mm and 50 mm . . .

They come in an 18X8 with a 35mm offset and an 18X9.5 with either a 20 or 45mm offset. SO i would have to use a 18X9.5 with the 45mm offset then?

The fronts might be too tall , IMO go with a 245/40/18s up front.

Im more concered about which wheel will fit up front with the given offset in my other post. I dont mind having a taller tire. helps with ground clearance for the turbo kit :nod:
