Default 8" vs 10" wide drag wheel

I am going to order either the jegs mag wheel or some race star industries wheels, but I dont know if an 8" wide wheel will be wide enough for my application and get traction. The current mods are in my sig, I will be running a 200 shot, a new rear end and suspension. I havent made my mind up if I will run a full slick or drag radial yet. Sorry if this should be in the drag racing section. Thanks guys!

Through an automatic..I think a good DR would work just fine for you. Check out the Hoosiers dr. They arnt really intended for the street (as most) but Iv heard a lot of good about them, and Iv got a buddy very similar set up with a TH400 and a big hit going 10.12 (He almost touched the back bumper) on a 28in Hoosier drag radial (and shitty track) somethin to think about

Thats badass. Did your buddy have a 8" wheel or 10"? I am ordering a lot of suspension pieces so I THINK I can get it to hook with a good drag radial. I would do a 28" tall tire but I heard you have to do a lot to make them fit.

shouldnt be too much of a diff just mainly how aggressive it looks i think... plus if you get the right tire you can make up for the 2in of traction your looseing... but if you can get the 10's i would but i dont think it's completely neccisary either... i could be wrong though

you should be fine with an 8inch, i would just run a taller tire. 275/60/15 et streets should work well

10in wheel.

A 28x10.5-15 is big from what I hear. Im about to get a set and everyone says its kinda pain to make fit. I know a 275/60/15 isnt soo bad to fit but thats a radail..not a slick
