There is a picture of a blue camaro in the OE wheels thread of a 275 on a 10.5 rim. It looked very streched and pretty unsafe.
I believe it is on page 3 or so. He even replied to a question and said it was just temporary because it was so streched.

Is it so hard for people to look up the tire manufacturers specs for each tire size? I personally wouldn't trust billy bob on this forum to give me the proper specs for a safe setup. Find your tire brand and size on tire rack and click on the specs. For a michelin pilot sport ps2 in a 275 35 18, the recommended rim width range is 9-11". It's 8-9.5" for a 245 40 18. If michelin say's it's ok to mount a 275 on a 11" rim, I highly doubt it is unsafe and dangerous. A 245 40 18, on the other hand, is unsafe according to the manufacturer.

the 245/40x18's will not fit on the stock 16" wheels... since u didn't buy the wheels yet, just buy the correct size for the front...
