Question ET Streets vs ET Streets II

Okay I did a search and came up with nothing. I don't know if its been discussed before but what is the difference if any between the Mickey Thompson ET street drag radial and the ET street drag radial II?

The 2's have more of a distinctive tread pattern - similar to m&h drag radials and kinda like a nitto drag radial. The compound is supposed to be the same, but after having both the 2's seemed harder when cold. The 2's are typically for larger wheels - probably because the tire and tread pattern is geared toward late model cars.

No compound difference, just the tread pattern. Also, you cannot get the ET Streets and ET Streets II's in the same sizes, i.e., you can't pick between a 275/40/17 I or II, they only come in I, same as you can't have a 315/35/17 in v.I, they only come in II.

I assume that they are phasing out the old tread pattern (I) and phasing in the new one (II). Probably a ton of the old pattern in stock, and since they never made a 315/35/17 in the first tread pattern it makes sense why it isn't available in both.

Long story short, they'll hook equally as good. I went 1.34 60' on my ET Street's (I) on the Bogarts, and the set on the Fikse's (II), seemed to hook just as well.

What size were you running and how long did they last?

Not too much to elaborate on, they hooked. 325/50/15's on the Bogarts, 315/35/17's on the Fikse's. Vid with the drag radials on the Bogarts:

No numbers out of the Viper on the n2o yet.

On the street wheels, 315/35/17's, I didn't drive the car much, but after about 2k they didn't show much wear, I've heard of 8-10k out of them if you're not on it all the time.

Autos will hook on a Radial..they have less tire shock vs the 6 speeds..thats how he did it..Suspension tuning and tires are everything..

I might just have to get another set of wheels and tires cause my car isn't a dd but I drive it often. I was also thinking about some Toyo's or BFG's cause I heard they hook pretty good and last a little longer

For that, I'd go BFG DR then.

I wouldn't say that, my automatic seemed to shock them decently, off the footbrake stalling to 2300 RPM.

You let the cardboard escape from the DS.....
Isn't that wierd to find cardboard inside the driveshaft?

We have had problems with the stock driveshafts at far less power than you have. A heads & cam car on 315/35 BFG drag radials, killed one rather easily.

Yes an auto does shock the tires but the 6 speed really lays the smack to the tire, thats why its soo important to have da shocks and a bias ply in the rear to keep the rear tire from unloading after the shock..Bouncing kinda like a ball in a sence!
