20's on a camaro? do they look good? jw bc i found some forsale, just want to check out what 20's look like on a camaro |
Personally, their way to large. look to large. tires are super expensive. 18"s look perfect. no bigger, unless staggered. |
unless they are fikse's, ccw's, or hre's.. they look like crap |
Agreed, has to be the right wheel to look good |
Well as long as your not trying to race the car then 20's will fit. Id stay in the rang of 245-255 fronts and 255-275 rear by 35 since 40 will look like sh!t. Just remember if you put wheels like these on dont go dragging the car cause they weigh a ton. Drag radials are out the question also unless you want to pay over 600bux for them plus you'll have a real sh!ty profile " 35 " no tire flex means you probably wont hook good at all with that skinny ass tire ......... |
20s are ok just depends on the rim design..post some pics of the wheel you are thinking about. |
Yuck. Haha im sure there is a 20 that will look good, but theres no way i'd put one on mine. 18 tops for me! |
a 255/30x20 has a 26" diameter... thats like having a rubber band for a tire... u hit a cigarette in the road and ur gonna bend a rim... |
I have 18"s on my car now, and some people feel they're a little big... But most everyone is used to seeing my car on bigs n littles. |
toooo big |
if you want 20's get an Escalade.....why would you want to purposely have a negative effect on your ability to corner, hook, and have a somewhat decent ride? |
it takes an escalade to have 20s? you do realize the new camaro comes stock with 20s right? so do 300s, magnums, and many other cars. 20s are small by today's standards. I have 19s on my car, and I think 20s can be pulled of easily with the right wheel choice. OP you wont get much love on here about wheel choice unless you want to buy TT's or some vette knockoff like everyone else has on here. To me, I dont really care for any of the TT or vette wheels on a camaro. TT are too old school looking for our cars, and vette wheels are just that, wheels for a corvette. |
Like already mentioned, 20s on here will get alot of people throwing a fit. But if you like them, run them. I have had 20s since '03, first set was 20x8.5, currently have TSW 20x8.5 and 20x10. Here's a few shots of my t/a. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...0/DSC01579.jpg http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...0/DSC01583.jpg http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...0/DSC01581.jpg And I just dynoed at 392hp on a load-bearing dyno and the tires can hold up as long as its not too cold out (not saying it has as much grip as a DR though). But I am happy with the set-up and get compliments all the time. |
^^ nice choice on wheels, I think 20s fill out the wheel wells nicely on our cars. |
Funny bcuz I was just about to wash the car with the dubs on it will show pics in an hour |
those 20's look extremely good |

i have 20" maya 2 peice japan made..and very light, lowered on a pro-kit 265/35/20 up front and 285/30/20 rear...it all depends on the style you get..handling,get full suspension upgrade, staggerd wheels, vearry key "adjustable panhard bar".And you'll have a nice stiff setup.. |
T/As pull them off better than Camaros. Keep in mind the examples given of Mustangs and Dodge cars have a different fender cut and are stubbier cars, much better suited to large wheels. The vette pulls it off being very sleek but their fenders are very deep cut. The biggest problem is that most people who put 20s on their car choose something gaudy as hell and give them a bad name. With the right wheel choice it can look great, like the T/A posted above. Personally I stay away from them because the tires are so pricey. I have 18s on the rear of my car and the price jump from the stock 17s was damn near $50 each. |
here we go and old pic though couldn't wash the car. |
