Default I want 315's but...

I don't want to start using a BFH or grind down the bump-stop. From what I've read this is the most common method of getting 315's to fit. I currently have the stock 16's at stock ride height and the wheel gap is atrocious. lol I'm looking into a set of either 17x 9.5-17x11 zr1's or 17x9.5-18x10.5 c5 z06's. I just want to know what options, if any, will allow me to run 315's in the rear without modification.

Hmm, I'm not sure about the zr1's, but the c5 zo6's are notorious for sitting far inside the fender (deep offset). If you decide to lower the car at all down the road, then that'll hurt your clearance as well.

The BFH really isn't a big deal, and neither is rolling the fenders (which you wouldn't need to do most likely anyway), but these little tricks are small and relatively painless ways to fit a thick set of shoes out back.

i DID have to cut the bumpstops for my 11" zr1/ 315 555r setup.

its kind of a shot in the dark as to what youll have to do, no easy way to tell until you do it. some cars need it, others dont

I'm aware that the BFH isn't all that much of a big deal. I would just like to know what the alternatives are.

if youre not lowered and have the correct offset, you dont have to do anything to make them fit.

What is the correct offset? And can either 17x11 zr1s or 18x10.5 zo6s be found with this offset?

also look into getting a adjustable pan hard bar... that will help, using the bfh and grinding on the bump stops is well worth having the meats out back! once your get 315's on your car, you will never want to own another car with out them! trust me!

camaros need a 50mm offset. pontiacs can use either a 36 or 50. you only need an adj. PHB if you lower the car. as long as youve never been in an accident, 315s will fit just fine without any modifications on stock height.

any rim can be had with many offsets. make sure you find out what the offset is before you buy it, regardless of diameter or width.

Thanks for the info everybody. I'm leaning towards a set of zr1s from oewheels they have a 56mm offset up front and a 50mm offset out back. Hopefully they fit with no modification but if not you guys convinced me BFH is well worth it!

I have been running 9.5 inch and 11 inch wide ZR1 wheels for over 200,000 miles with 275's in the front and 315's out back. I had to grind on the bump stops and use a BFH in a few places. The car is at stock height. 3M makes a good aerosol undercoating that I sprayed over the area that got the BFH treatment. Don't be skeered of using the BFH. If you don't your tires and wheels will rub. Especially if you run the goodyear GS-D3 tires. They are the widest of the 315's on the market....

Same here, just mounted mine yesterday. 315s out back, lowered with an Eibach pro kit, no rubs anywhere or even close for that matter. Adjustable panhard bar is a must too with a lowered car. Had to center the rear end back up..

Make sure you get the on-car adjustable one. I ordered mine direct from BMR's website for like $132 shipped I think? Really stiffened up the back of the car and eliminated an annoying squeak I had developed. I guess the stock bushings were shot. Really nice piece...

a wider tire isn't going to help the height issue... sounds like u need/want to lower the car... ur car looks like it sits awful high in the back, is anything done to it?
