Default new rims but need help

just got some 18 inch c6 z06 deep dish rims from oe wheels for my 2000 camaro. front set is a 8.5 inch wide rim with 46mm offset and the rear are 10.5 inch with 56mm offset. i went to test fit and the fronts were fine but the rear rims are right on the bump stop. i read into it and from what i saw i would require a spacer? or do the bfh mod which i really dont wanna do. i also read somewhere on here that someone had the same 10.5 inch rims and it rubbed because of the way the car was jacked up? i just need some clarification if these rims should just bolt on fine or if its gonna require some sort of modification?? btw the tires im gonna run are 285/40/18 nitto 555nt's

why not 295s? might as well get as much meat on the ground as you can if you have to bfh or space it.

I think I read that you'll need to raise the car by the axle to get the wheels on.

My car is lowered with 315 rear tires so I had to do the following steps...
Grind bump stop mounts a few milimeters, use a 5/16" spacer (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MRG-2371/), BFH inner fender, roll fender (I cut mine nicely, didnt wanna risk cracking the paint), Either get longer studs* or use extended shank lugs* (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GOR-21133ETXL/ ) . All steps are a MUST if you car is LOWERED with 315 tires. If i remember correctly the rims itself was actually hitting the bump stops not the tires. so either way i would grind the bump stop mounts.

After doing this I am able to jack the car up normally. No rubbing or hitting even when driving aggressively around turns etc.

*longer studs or longer shank lug nuts is to compensate for using the spacer. rule of thumb...lugs need at least 6-7 complete turns to be securely tightend. any less you risk snapping the stud itself.

Any other questions you can PM me. hope this helps.

No spacer for the 285 tires... Also you mentioned the rubbing on the bump stop. you will need to grind it.

hmmm, well when i ordered my tires from oewheels i asked if the rims are gonna fit on there fine and he said yes. when i get the rim on there and lower the car back down will it fit on there nice or is it still going to hit the bump stop?

I'm in the same boat as you, I ordered the Z06 wheels w/ the red band from oewheels in 18x10.5 w/ 285 nt555r in the rear, but I knew I might run into an issue with rubbing the bump stop when I ordered mine. Here are your options: you can jack the axle up and put the wheels on and it will clear the bump stop, but if you do this you may rub on the inner rim surface when the suspension rebounds going over a bump. I am going to go the other route and cut off my entire bump stop and mount and get a stiffer suspension to avoid the possibility of bottoming out. On the plus side a stiffer suspension will help to hook better.

If youre worried about the bump stops making contact i would recommend what is mentioned below...or trimming the bump stops
