tire size for 18x10.5
Hey guys, so i have a 2000 Trans Am with 18" vette wheels. the fronts are 18x9.5 and have beat 275s on it now, so ill just replace those with 275s cuz they look fine....the rears are 18x10.5s and have 285s on them, the rim actually sticks out past the tire.
im looking at picking up a set of 295/35/18s for the rear but not sure if that will fit the rim properly or if i should go 305? anyone know from experience or have pictures of them on their cars? Also a little concerned with rubbing, not sure how 295 or 305s fit in the rear without modification (i really have no desire to do so unless its minimal, ie cutting a bump stop or something)
any help would be great, used the search function but the threads i found either didnt seem to have the proper information or people talking about 285s on a 10.5 like thats ok......im not a big fan of the rim past the tire.

285 is more for a 9.5" rim maybe even a 10" depending on the tire as some run narrower. A 295 or 305 is what you want on a 10.5" wheel. What tire are you putting on there? and you may want to roll the fender as an insurance so save from slicing tires on bumps!

Im looking at picking up some NT05s. Having a hell of a time finding them in 305s but found them in 295/35/18s for $229/ea. Do you know for a fact they will hit on bumps or just a precaution?

Most of the 315's for an 18" wheel are 30 series tires, which sucks. However, Nitto does make the NT05R in a 40 series, its the drag radial version of the NT05. They sell it at discounttire.com.
