Question Smacked "gutter curb" on tire & wheel. HOW BAD IS THIS?

So as the tittle reads, I smacked the edge of a curb while pulling out of a gas station that's really a rounded off gutter. I'd dented the lip on the wheel and sliced into the tire a bit. I'm not loosing and air and I'm not noticing any issues with drivability but it just concerns me. I don't want a blow out at 60+ mph!

-NITTO 555 tire (right rear tire)

the tire might be fine. if you lift up the flap and white is showing, then you need a new tire. If its still black rubber then its fine.

Just black rubber. No hint of white. ... Not sure if this is a stupid question but should I put a lil dab of JB Weld in between the flap just in case so it doesn't snag on anything or get crap in it?

you can use rubber cement, or cut it off. Either way if no white is showing under the flap, its only a cosmetic blemish.

yeah man just like he said. Dont mess with side wall damage.
every time you turn it places stress on the tire. Eventually it may bubble or just blow.

Or you can listen to me. I have been working in the tire
Bissiness for a very long time. If you have the money to blow then go ahead and get a new one, but its not needed at this time

Greatly appreciate your advise. I just drove 230+ miles on it yesterday and she seemed fine. ... I just need another 5K miles out of them before I swap them out. I just didn't want to buy another set before it was absolutly nessisary. I'm actually a lil more pissed about the wheel dent at this point. I'll NEVER pull out of anywhere again with those stupid rounded off gutters. ******* stupid!! ... I knew it was probably going to happen too. It was just too narrow of a ramp to avoid from the angle I was pulling out at.

Side wall damage is like a ticking time bomb. it could blow at any minute. a blow out can lead to spinout etc. get it changed asap. tires have high pressure and flex alot on driving especially turning or hiting bumps in the road. imagine a water dam with a slight crack....

Nice drawing of the scene of the accident. lol. 3D and all!!!

Rim is fine. I would recommend replacement of the tire anytime there is sidewall damage.

new tire, rim's fine. Sidewall damage can cause a blowout, no fun.

I did similar to my subaru about 4 years ago, cept I hit it with BOTH tires and hit it at about 40mph.. yea.. I needed 2 new rims AND 2 new tires.

Your drawing seems awful precise to show a forum, are you an architect or something?
