Nitto Invo's ???

hey i have a set of 2009 Z06 rims and need to put some rubber on them.

i have nitto NT555RII extremes on my stockies (17's) and love the tread pattern, they grab amazing and look mean at shows.

the only nitto for the 19" rim is an Invo and i cant really follow the tread pattern or how it would benefit a grab on the strip.

and how much should i sell my 17s with BRAND NEW nittos, fronts are BRAND NEW faulkens FK452's. rims are show condition and no scratches or chips. someone offered 500$ but i would like more since im spending 1500$ on JUST TIRES..

some advice?

What kind of wheels you have ? The stock ones I mean .. Are they chrome ? And what's the sizes on the tires front and back on your stockers ?

ALH442 Dec 27, 2011 05:25 AM

I run the Invo's on the Front of my 99 F/B "225/40/17" and i am verry happy with there preformance. There is alot of rubber in the contact patch that lay's on the pavement and they have lot's of grip even in the rain.As far as for the strip i dont know i have 555's on the rear and they hook just as good as a D/R.

Hope this helped somewhat :usa:

yeah, they are the 2002 chrome WS6 rims. the thick 5 spoke ones, but the rears are 275/45/17 Nitto NT555RII extreme, and front are Faulken FK452 275/35/17, i personally picked them for the tred pattern and reviews and im extremely happy with them, much better then the yokohoma S drives i had. but i need to get the rims for Trans Am nationals, plus it will lift my car a little bit considering the CAT's sit about 5" from the ground.

and it does help that you say the Invos work well in the rain! good to hear they work well in all environments. i guess i will find out when i get them on because they are kind of the only option, but i never understood drag radials on the front of a car, what are the benefactors? i was never really taught anything but just learned it on my own.

now the second question is, would they fit? the rears are 19" 325,35,19 and the fronts are bridgestone Potenza 275,25,18. would the rears rub outside of the wheel well, and will i loose steering radius in the front?

You do know the invo isn't a drag radial right? Just a street tire. I love mine.

WSsic66 Dec 27, 2011 12:37 PM

The invos are great for everyday driving where few launchs are needed and great in the rain. The invo is more of a ""auto cross tire"" and i use that term loosely when comparing it to drag radial.

AHH!! see this is news to me! i seriously thought they were radials. well damn.. hmm well then what radial can i get in a size 19? i know dumb question, who drags on 19s, but im just looking for something i can launch on or even warm up and launch on at a stoplight. but im thinkin with 325's i should be good.

now what about the clearence?

Mickey Thompson just came out with a 19 inch version of the et street. It says its 28" tall, so there would most likely be some BFH'ing and possibly rolling the fenders a bit.

Thanks for all the help guys, appreciate it

have you thought about the Michelin PS2 ZP but I have no clue how they are in the rain. My friend dad has them on his ZR-1.. but then again he hardly takes the thing out and its wiped with a diaper

Dr Tran Dec 29, 2011 09:27 PM

Check out the NT05's they offer a 335/30/19.

i dont like the tred pattern on the NT05's or MT ET streets because i need the grip at high speed turns (interstate clovers, or Circuit tracks meets) but i will talk to some more people about the PS2 ZP and see what they say.

now can someone explain how im going to LOSE traction when going to a bigger rear tire? i never understood that but i see it happen all the time, right now i lose traction from less than a 40mph roll

Dr Tran Dec 30, 2011 04:58 PM

Pretty sure the nt05 are good in corners... The invos are great though.

You know what it takes to fit a 325+ in the rear right?

NTO5's bite hard in the corners, and them for years.

we had NT05's on my friends E46 M3 and i watched his rear end slide out on him when going around a clover at 65mph, but ive never had a problem with the 555's but hopefully the Envos are as good.

what does it take to fit a 325+ in the rear? they are a a 10" rim with 325/35/19 with the rear lowered 1.3 inches

Dr Tran Dec 31, 2011 10:31 AM

My guess is that will need a mini-tub, and 325 is a lot of tire for a 10" rim...

i wish they made the invos in bigger sizes for 17" wheels :( im sstuck with the 555s but they take a beating like ive never seen

i love the 555's for exactly that reason lol, the PERFECT street strip tire ever. heat em up and they are sticky then take them to 180 on the highway while putting a GT500 owner to shame lol

and about the 325's, ive seen many people fit a 325 on the 1999 WS6 rims. it looks like shit but it works, so im sure they would look good on a 10" rim, but your right, i might need to do some fender work, i hope the 19's would lift the car a bit too because im tired of bottoming out on the highway, is it difficult to roll the fenders? ive never heard of anyone at home doing so

Just out of curiosity was the road damp, cold, or wet? I was looking at the NT05 for a DD performance tire, but haven't heard much about wet performance.

it was probably august, in indiana at midnight, so about 40 degree night.
for wet, i wouldnt recommend them simply for the tread pattern, there is the flat patch of rubber in the middle, but they sure do bite like a bitch on the strip!
