What are the largest wheels I can put up front without BFH?
Title says it. My vehicle is a 2000 Trans Am. I read the sticky and it said I can get away with a 285 on a 9.5 rim but it did not mention if cutting the fender well covers or work with the BFH was necessary. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Yeah with the right offset and a spacer you can fit 315's up front. Do people even do the BFH mod up front?

You can run an 11" up front, autocross guys do it all the time. The only modifications usually needed are spacers. It looks terrible most of the time though and they would pull you all over the place on the street.
Trans-Ams seem to accommodate them better than the Camaro (pic's previously posted).

If you do it, consider a set of G-PLUS arms; they have additional caster built into the them that keep the tire flatter on the pavement.

I'm sorry I'm a drag racer don't do much cornering unless I'm driving my v6 bird which I built as more of a handling car why would you wanna run more than a 275 from tire I'm sure you could get more grip with a wider tire but jeezbus that would look odd and how would the car track with that wide of a tire I had 15x10 rims on my blazer xtreme and it was so hard to turn killed gas mileage and just made the truck way more susceptible to hydroplaing

I'm running 18x10s with a 51mm offset, and 285/35R18 tires. I've tested this setup at full suspension travel with the wheels turned lock to lock and no rubs or touches anywhere.

I went as large as I felt comfortable with being that I only had online research to go by.

Ideally 10" up and 11" out back with 315's all around would be the best setup. After clearance issues are addressed it come down to the wheel bearing. I am sure that the bearings can take the load. I could though see the bearings failing from heat. Now would brake cooling be a permanent fix, it would cool the brakes and the wheel bearing??

I don't think it's the heat that kills wheel bearings. It's the stress of auto-xing and road racing with wider/heavy wheels that does it. The wheel bearings just aren't strong enough.

I don't understand what you would be using a hammer on in the front of the car...lol. Plastic fenders and plastic under it. It's mainly an issue with spindle. You just have to get a proper offset and spacer if needed
