Default What is the Tallest Tire (photo Request too!)

What is the tallest Tire you can fit in the front and what size front tires give a good balance to the 275/60-15 rear tire size?

One other question, I have both 15x8 and 15x10 Weld Wheels Prostar rear wheels that I plan on using with a 3" per side Narrowed S60. I know the 10" Wide tires have the correct backspace of 4.5" (I like the deep dish look as I am old school, lol) but I am wondering how the 8" wheel looks being sucked in a bit from the wheel well. Does anyone have any photos of this set up if they have done it?

I have a 3" narrowed per side 12 bolt with 15x10 wheels, with the correct back spacing. Deep dish lip.

I'd do the 15x10's I love the stance it gives my car.

I run a 27.5" Hoosier Bias Ply front runner and it looks really good IMO.

I will say I have coilovers front and rear so my ride height is not stock. The front is lower than the rear slightly, but the size of the front tire helps to bring it closer to level. It's a very slight rake.

Cool! I just bought some used Weld Prostars and the fronts have 27.5" tall Mickey Thompsons and the Rear 8" Rims have 255/60-15 tires which I will run til they wear out and then I will just put some 275/60's on the 10" Prostars I have.

Joe

PS. How do you like the 4.11 gearing? I am going to order an S60 and I am debating the 3.73 or 4.10 ratio!

For the track it's awesome. For the street not so much. If you have a 4l60 then the 4.11 isn't bad at all, lock up conveter and OD tames it down a lot. If your stuck with a 3 spd. then I'd lean towards the 3.73, maybe a 3.90 if you can get that gear with a S60.

It will also depend on the converter and motor combo you'll have. I'm going to be tightening up the converter for nitrous which should help, but I do plan on ending up with at least a 3.89 if not a 3.73 when it's all said and done.

I would love to get a 3.90 but they dont have them for the S60 unfortunately! That has been my biggest hang up on waiting to order 3.73 or 4.10. I am leaning 4.10 because I could alway go Gear Vendor if I had to but this will be a very limited street car either way. I am not into Street Racing at all, I think its stupid when there is a track just down the road from me.

Can you do me a favor and measure how high your front fender well is off of the ground with the tire installed? I finally got the car ready to go and tried to mount the 27.5" fronts and I couldnt get the wheels to turn as I was pretty much on the inner liner. Do you have the Inner Liners still installed in your car?

Can you post some photos with the tires on the ground and turned to half lock and full lock? I would really like to run these tires but I am not sure what needs to be done to fit them to my car.

I will try to post some photos tomorrow of my car with the tire/wheels on the car and show the problem I am having.

Thanks,

Joe
