So I picked up a set of ZR1's off a guy that put prostars on his SS. The set came with centers and a full set of lug nut covers, but I cannot get the covers on the rears (17 x 11's). The guy never mentioned anything about this so I don't know if it was an issue for him or if these are an aftermarket set. I tried a search but since 3 letter words are not searchable "lug" and "nut" it is not yielding any helpful results.

It seems like the covers are too big to fit all the way into the pocket so they can be screwed onto the lug nuts, I didn't want to put too much force on them as they did not even seem close enough to the lug nuts. Anyone else come across this before?

Do they thread onto the lugs? Or the lug nuts dont fit into the wheels mounting holes?

If they dont fit i highly recommend ordering open ended gorrilla lug nuts. 20 bucks for all of them, they come with a key and are the slimmest open style i saw.

The lug nuts fit just fine. The chrome covers don't seem to fit deep enough into the pocket to thread onto the lug nuts.

Has anyone else here come across this before, or am I loosing my marbles here?

You need to grind down the little locking tabs that are on the sides of the covers and they will fit fine.

Ah ha! I will give that a try, I was thinking it was the "ring" closer to the hex head of the cap, I never thought of the little tabs. I'll file these down and give them a try again today.
