Hey guys. I'm about to pick up a new set of wheels and the rears are 10.5". I want the widest tire i can get back there but i dont want a drag radial. I'm having issues finding good street tires any wider than a 295. I still want decent sidewall, tread life, and I'd like something not too terribly expensive. Let me know what you think!

The side wall is dependent on the wheel size it self (17",18") as well as the ride height of the car (is it lowered?)

305, 315, 335 are wider than 295. Really need the wheel size to answer your question.

Overall you are looking for a street tire with 9/32 of tread or better.
Harder tire (ex: Sumitomo HTRZ)can potentially last longer but ride rough/loud. (generally less expensive)
Softer tire (ex: Micheline PS2) will give you a better ride but do not last as long. (generally more expensive)

Maybe some contenitals <misspelled are the sumitomo tires are gonna be your choice .. Prolly the cheapest and you can get a wide rear for cheap too

sorry guys i forgot to put they are 18" wheels. I can find a good tire for 17" wheels all day but the 18's are hard to find. I've searched tire rack and all they have in the sidewall i want is drag radials or racing tires. I'd like a 35 sidewall or bigger. car will be lowered on stranos when i get everything in. will have adj. panhard bar and lca's as well.

They don't really make any street tires in 305+ with sidewall that big unless it's like a truck/suv tire or like you said a drag radial.

There are plenty of 315/30/18s on tirerack...

Yeah i see that now. I just haven't seen any 30 sidewalls that dont look too thin.

I would look at a pair of Toyo TQ's. They are a drag radial, but have much better tread life than nt05's or et streets, not to mention are a night and day difference in wet conditions. That is what I will be putting on my daily. I'm almost positive they make them in a 295/35r18
