Looks Sweet; ENJOY!

You did a great job matching of the front and rear tire heights, but how come you didn't go with a 305/30/19 rear?

BTW, what the offset on the rear wheels?

I just refuse to hammer and roll to fit a tire on a car that I'm not racing. The Hankook tire is wide for a 295, and seems pretty sticky too. It would probably be fine, because I think the offset is optimal (+44), but I didn't want to chance cutting a tire. Tire options are much more limited in a 305, and more expensive of course.

I like it, looks sharp!

LS1HIGHLIFE May 14, 2012 05:23 AM

Looks awesome dude, now time for a BBK up front.

Alan, the old LT1 is coming along nicely. New wheels look bad ass and completely change the whole look of the car. Nice work!

Totally understandable, and I bet those tires ride surprisingly good(I've got a set up front in a 275/35/18s).

Anyway, ENJOY! :thumb:

LT1 looks good with the Forgestars.. Nice stance as well, I might have to get that same suspension setup.

HUH? I have those same tires, and I don't think I agree with you. I have the same tires as you on the front, and RS2s on the back, and they both seem skinny for their respective sizes(285 fronts, 315 rears). I'm also not very comfortable pushing the tires to their limits, as they seem to just break loose without warning.

Maybe I'm making more power then you, which is causing my issues, but I'm still not happy with the tires in the least bit. I only have about 500 miles on them and I'm considering selling them for something else.

It's a discontinued wheel now, so probably not relavent. You can find prices from multiple vendors if you google Forgestar or PM nineball.

Those ugly old brakes sure stand out like a sore thumb. Unfortunately, this was supposed to be a budget build that is already way over budget...maybe a winter project.

Looks a hell of a lot different from when I bought the car, huh?

I haven't noticed any decline in ride quality in the few miles i've driven it. Pretty decent budget tire in my opinion.

You are comparing 2 different rear tire models. I am only basing the width assessment on the 2 other sets of 11" wheels I have w/ 295s on them...KDWs and Invos...the Hankooks appear slightly less stretched than the others. My "seem pretty sticky" assessment is based on a few miles on the street. And yes, I would imagine you are making more power than my 120k mile LT1 with headers and a tune.
