Here is the way to look at this:

There are approximately 16 threads per inch on your lug nuts! 5 turns equals 5/16" thread engagement! No where near enough! I'm an aircraft mechanic and we need at least one complete thread and a maximum of 3 complete threads protuding past the nut for proper fastener engagement even for the smallest fastener! Learn from my experience with Stupid Shops!

im running oem c5 zo6's on my 98 z28
275/45/17's in front 295/35/18's in the rear.
there was a sharp corner on a bracket in the rear wheel well.
i took a grinder and smoothed that corner out.
thats the only modification i had to do.
rubs a little on the driver side rear if i hit a bad bump, but i need new shocks and springs, so after that i shouldnt have any issues.
i dont have tcs so im unsure of that.

295/35/18. Your guaranteed to have no issues.

No, I ran a custom set of TT2's which were 18X10.5 in the rear and had no problems with my TCS in any type of driving unless I spun the tires which is the same as if I had the 17's.

Not necessarily depending on your tire size.

As I mentioned, I ran the same set up as you except I had TT2's and the offset might have been a bit different but not by much. Keep in mind the sidewall is related to the width of the tire. A 275/40 and a 285/40 tire will have a different "size" sidewall even the though the aspect ratio is the same because the width is different. To get the "size" of the sidewalls on the rears to match the 275/40 fronts, you would have to have a smaller aspect ratio to compensate for the larger width. Does it look stupid? About 99% of the people on this thread with similar set ups do this (or have to). I seriously doubt someone is going to come up to your car and say "Man those sidewalls look pretty damn stupid, what were you thinkin"?

This seems like a problem. Its really close to the bump stop with no pressure on the suspension. Not sure why this would make a difference. They are 10.5" on my 98 Trans am. I didn't think I was going to have any issues

What wheel is that (OEM vs. Aftermarket)? Offset?

Default Bump stop

Did you had to grind your bump stops?

When it sits on the ground usually the bumpstop is in the clear. Normally it's the inner fender. I have 12's in rear.

I was running 18x10.5, running 295/35/18's was lowered on the Eibach ProKit and all I had to do was BFH to the driver side inner fender. No spacers at all and it rode great with no issues.
