Will 315's fit?
 

May be a stupid question but can I fit 315's on my stock WS6 rims and lower the car with the Eibach Pro Kit? If so will I have any fitment or rubbing issues?

You'll be fine. I am running 17x11's out back w/ Eibach's and no issues.

And yes, a 315 tire will fit on a 17x9.5 rim, but it will buldge out of the side a little..

The WS6 rim is 9" not 9.5". It will physically hold air but thi is not a good swap. Even the 315 Nitto one of the narrowest 315s is designed to fit on a rim no smaller than a 10.5".

WS6 rims are 9" not 9.5", as are Camaro SS rims(same holds true for the 10 spoke SS rims). ZR1 front 17"s and some standard C4 rims are 9.5" though(there also was a brief run of 17x8"s on the vette and 16x8"s on the convertible SS). The recomended width for a 315 tire is 10.5"-12" This gives you an idea of recomended rim to tire widths.

FWIW though there is a 315 Goodyear tire that is recomended for a 9" rim... of course it's a truck tire with an 80 series sidewall.

Now a 315 will hold air on 9" rim, I've seen it done, and I personally find it rather comical that a person would do that since it's the domestic equivalant of ricing a car out. Since the tire is deformed and can no longer lay the tread patch down flat it is not stabalizing the belts and thus has less traction than a smaller 275. This bowed sidewall condition greatly shortens tread life, causes belt speration and blistering and degrades performance. Why would you do a mod to try and look fast that intriniscly degrades the performance of your ride?

At any rate, if you are going to do it, do it right. Buy a cheap set of ZR1 rims with 11"s in the back. That's what I've run for 5 years now and you actually get the performance to back up the look.

Now if you just want to keep the look of the WS6 rim you can also jsut have the 17x9" WS6 rim widened.

Your best bet is to have you rims widened to 11's, there's a place in Dallas, TX. who can do them for about $100 bucks a piece.
