I met a guy who had 5th gen ss 20's on his 4th gen. But the mating surface of the wheel was milled down in order to create the correct offset. Even then at full lock the tires rubbed the wheel well liner a tiny bit

I actually like those 18s on the 4th. The one ive seen around my area has them, NBM convertible sitting on DRs. They look good. Found this one as well....

I was thinking about the 18s, I found a good deal with new tires. BUT I want to be sure the tires fit because I can't return them. The stock tires that come on these 18 rims are 28.6 high........way too big. Deal breaker, I'd have to find 18s that are very low profile. Somthing in the 25.5 range.

The bolt pattern is fine. Obviously. There are a ton of guys running c5z wheels on their 5th gen and a ton of 4th gen cars running c5 wheels. They won't sheer off more than likely. I actually like the 18" Alum wheels pic, doesn't look bad

.65mm is not enough to cause a problem or "shear off bolts" haha. If that happend it was because of other issues, not the .65mm difference in bolt pattern.
Put a 5x4.75 wheel on your 4th gen with the lugs off, wiggle it side to side... that play is more than .65mm.... /thread.

Exhumed...
I have a '97 and found some 18" wheels and tires off a 2011 locally on CraigsList. The tires I can sell once I get them removed from the wheels. Would have to go with 275/35 18 tires. Problem is the tires are roughly $180 each and that doesn't include mounting, etc. On a budget, I might let these go for now as I'm sure some others will pop up again. Maybe some Corvette wheels...
Thanks for the pics guys. I know it's an old thread and folks got pretty irritated at one point. It turned out well because... there's pics!
OK, after looking I found some 17" Corvette ZR1 wheels with tires, the correct size and the same brand/model tires that are on my car now. Hmm...
