HELP BROKE LUG NUT KEY what are my options..

1995 Firebird 18" MSR rims.

I took one wheel off and the lug nut broke on the driver side front wheel. My buddy took the hub off and drilled the stud out and replaced it. Now the rear wheels are all locked lugs as well. He asked if he wanted me to pull diff cover, pull axle clips and pull the axles and drill them out like the front.

I almost wanna take it to a wheel shop but I live in a smaller town and unsure if they could do it any different but what do I know.

I used to just beat on a socket (onto the lock lug) with a hammer and then use that to back them off, taking care not to beat the socket into the rim.

There isn't much room to work with on the rim. How would a tire shop do it? I think pulling the axles is a little excessive.

This is what a shop will use... Bout the same thickness as a socket...

I too hammer a socket when removing ones that the key have been lost... Those locking lugs do nothing but cause headaches like this... They don't stop thieves as they are better prepared.

Hmmm I might just get the shop to do it. Just the two rear wheels left lol

Sounds like too much fun. They will just smack it with a hammer.
