Default Hoosier DOT Drag Radial........for roll racing.....

335/30/18

Anyone use these for 50-180mph runs....?

I'm wondering if they wander left and right while accelerating......?

I want a tire that's as close to a slick or drag tire as possible, but one that will be very solid at high speeds.

I can't recommend the R888's enough. A lot of the tt Gallardo and GTR guys run them, and mine have started to hook really well once you get a little heat in them. Do a quick 2-3 second heat up, and they hook well and they are very stable at high speeds.

They are very good tires I have used them. They are very close to a bias ply and light!
Never thought about using them for roll racing though but if your making a lot of power I guess you might need to run them even for roll racing. IMO not the best for the street and wont last long but hey, its all about compromise with our cars right?...

The Toyo Proxes R888 I see are 100 tread wear rated......so a little harder compound then the Hoosier DOT drag. I wonder how it will hook compared to the Hoosier DOT.....?

Yea, after my TT kit is done......ill have a minimum of 1,200 RWHP. So I will need the best traction tire available for roll races too. Ill never see a drag track, at least not to get the best possible times, maybe just for shuts and giggles.

If the Hoosier is rock solid at high speeds than Ill probably go with that tire since its 40 tread wear and soft. Probably the best hooking tire there is that's street legal.

I'm having a second set of rims widened and they will have some nice wet/dry daily driver tires mounted on them. I will do a quick swap to the Hoosiers or whatever tire I go with when the weather is perfect and I want to go run it hard.

......I see there's also the A6 and R6 Hoosiers too.....not sure what the difference would be. I just see the Hoosier DOT is listed as a drag radial, so I figure it will hook the best for a roll race punch at 40-50mph........

1,200 minimum is the plan. CBR TT kit will do it.

I just want to be stable at high speeds.

A friend of mine has a twin screw 383 vette with hoosier dots. Around 800 whp and they hook damm good from a 50-60 roll. Down low it will still destroy them but i think its how instant the power is with the big blower rather than the tire
