Do you think this tire is repairable?

I have done it with self plugging no problem. No slow leaks either. My hole was even bigger, it was the bottom leveler of a washer or dryer or something went into my tire. Will take two plugs possibly but I did it with no issues.

A tire shop should be able to fix that. The proper way would be to dismount the tire and patch it from the inside. Smaller holes can use those repairs that you push in from the outside, but something that big I'd want an inner repair done.
That bolt isn't at all pointy, surprising that it punctured like that. I had a big old bolt in my truck's tire, but the end was rusty and pointy so it easily poked a hole.

It appears to be over an inch away from the sidewall so its repairable if it was'nt driven low. It should be plugged and patched. The problem is I can not really see the size of the hole so I understand the dealer recommend replacement. I see you bought a new one which is good piece of mind but this is for others searching.
