HELP!! 335/35/17 tires 17x11 tt2 Soo yeah, I'm currently in the market for some wheels and I am interested in some 17x9.5 and 17x11 TT2s. My question has to do with the rears... I was wondering what backspace I would need in order to mount the wheels on WITHOUT having to do any BFH-ing or any mods. I don't mind if they poke out the fenders as long as its not crazy. I just want to be able to bolt them right up without beating the chit out of my car. The tires would either be some Kumho 335/35/17 or the 315/35/17 GSD-3s. Im really leaning towards the Kumhos but if I cant then ill do the other. The car is a 98 Camaro. Again I don't mind the :mullet: look as long as its not extreme. Thanks! |
Technically speaking a 335 is to wide for an 11 inch wheel. |
I agree, the 335 is too big for an 11" wheel. I have those on my 12" fm5's and I needed to beat my car to death to make it fit. Your best/safest option is to pull out the mallet and go to town. I'd rather do that than chew up a tire cause it was rubbing. |
Do the 315 and your still going to have to ding a little. My sumitomo tires rubbed the gsd3 is a wider beret 315. Probably what I'm going with after my free 335 tires wear out |
I have Nitto 315's and didn't have to do anything to get them to fit. I understand they are a bit narrower than the average 315 though. |
Go with the 315. Nitto NT05 or NT555 would be my choice if you don't want a drag radial. |
the gsd-3's are the widest 315 if my memory serves me correct. |
thanks guys. im still undecided though. Although I do like the width of a 315/35/17, its the height of the 335 that I want. Remember, I want to fit the 315 or 335 WITHOUT doing any BFHing or anything else. I don't mind if the tires stick out the fenders a little. I like the redneck Mexican look. Don't hate lol. So again, what offset would I need. im thinking a 33+? how much would those stick out? |
It's slightly more than half an inch taller. Barely noticeable froma gearing perspective. |
Your going to have to bang in your inner fender wells..and roll your fenders. There's no way around it unless you feel like cutting down tires left and right or fucking up your quarters. If your going to do it do it right. |
I dont want the rears to tuck. I dont care for having wide tires that tuck. And could I just get stiffer springs for the rear? |
