got some used h.r.e.'s from a 2004 z06.....how do i remove the centercap??
 

Like the title says got some used wheels and the old owner used some cheap checkered flag plastic centercaps. I have the oem h.r.e. centercaps and they are metal and way nicer looking. How would one remove the cheap caps for the metal ones safely without damaging the wheel??

I've tapped the out from the back with a wideflathead scrediver.
