Question about 20's

I have a stock height 02 z28...I can get a great deal on a set of 20's with 275/45/20 tires....they were on an s10...will they fit my car? No idea of backpacking ...thanks for the help!

45's might be too tall...? Without measurements then there is not really way that we can help. Will 20's fit? Yes they will.

thats a truck tire. its like 29.5-30" tall tire. thats nearly 4 inches taller than a regualr performance setup (like a 275/35/18) I would pass on the 20's and the tires.

You will need smaller tires, a 30 or 35 sidewall would be more appropriate.
Also realize the car will look like ass until you lower it.

If you want 20s get 20s but be prepared for the extra cost to make it look "right", but that may be impossible depending on the style of wheel.

Also check backspacing.

You'd need something closer to a 275/30 or 295/25 for the 20s to work.

I am going with 255/35/20 (27") front 295/30/20 (27") rear, because it has the most "decent" sidewall combo for 20s. 295/30s have a little more sidewall than narrower 30 series tires, and a 35 series up front should improve ride quality I would think.

Also, the car came with these 20s wrapped with 245/40/20 front (27.7") and 275/35/20 rear (27.6), and though they rub under hard corners and dips (sagging DeCarbons), they are just BARELY rubbing at stock ride hide.

People run 27-28" tires all the time right? Should be fine regardless of rim size, but as far as I know 28" is about the limit without much modification.

Try and stagger 19/20's if you can... it helps with the look. That's what I am running.

People run 28s in a drag tire... mainly because they need traction and more sidewall provides that... plus they are geared to take advantage of it. 4.10s or shorter. Generally 4.30s or 4.56s.

i dont mind 20s but it has to be the right wheel, offset, etc, imo a killer forged wheel, cut down rear end, huge lip in the rear ,and maybe even mini tub, just my 2cents but most cheap chrome 20 inch rims look very ghetto ,and imo makes the car look cheap, also before you buy these cheap wheels check tire prices, not going to be that great a deal if you have tonspend double the ammount to buy tires, your car do as you wish but there is a reason 20s get bashed so hard, but if you got the bucks and take a few tips that i posted i think it could look sick, and maybe ecen some custom wide fenders and air ride( yeah i know it can be very pricey)
