Is it normal for front wheels to be a little hard to spin by hand?

Yesterday i tried manually spinning the frot tires of my 04 GTO while the car was on a hoist but they were a little hard to turn. Its like the inside was rubbing against something. There was even a khhhhhh noise like something is definitely rubbing. I thought since its a rear wheel drive, the front wheels should spin freely.

Appreciate any enlightenment on this!

Cheers!

Could be stuck caliper. Did you recently get some brake work done?

Yeah i did actually.
Are they supposed to spin freely and without any resistance?

What did you replace?

Front wheels should be able to spin relatively easy, much easier than rear wheels.

Make sure they are seated correctly. Jack the front of the car up, take the wheels off and spin the rotors. Try to locate where the sound is coming from.

Check if your caliper slide pins are greased and allow the caliper to move inboard and outboard. Also check if the caliper piston is stuck or seized.

It's normal if you just recently got new brake pads installed. When brake pads are brand new, they are much thicker and leave very little room between the inside of the pad and the rotor than it would with old pads. It is likely that with the car shut off the brake lines were under slight pressure (Like if you pumped the brakes a couple times with the car off) and the caliper is not resting where it normally would with the car on.
You could always rent a caliper tool or use a C-clamp to compress the pistons in the calipers and bleed off a small amount of brake fluid so they sit open slightly more, but I wouldnt mess with it
