Default 02 Fbody 3" narrowed rear what backspacing?

Hey guys I have an 02 transam with a new 3" narrowed rear About to go in. What backspacing should I get on the wheels? I will be running 15x10 rims, not sure on tire yet but I do not want to roll the fenders.

Let me know your thoughts please.

Thanks!

Depends on what brand and style of wheel you want, but most common is the 10" wide with 4.5 back space.

Billet streetlites are what I am going for.

What tire would you run on it? The widest you can go without rolling fenders on an 02 transam?

Thanks again!

275/60 will be pretty straight forward, 295/55 with some clearancing of the inner wheel well. I'm curious with your rearend narrowed 3" per side, what is the total length from axle flange to flange?

The Street Lite will use a 15x10 and 4.5 backspace. The Comp5 wheel will use a 5" backspace.

The 275s and 295s as mentioned will work well for what you are doing. The LCA is usually the limiting factor in clearance. We can set you up with a set of LCA that have offset bushings to help that matter if need be.

Weld rts 15x10 (actually I think rts are 10.25 wide) with 4.5 back spacing. Mickey Thompson et pros.

you'll find good info in this thread.....it helped me figure my backspace with 2" per side and 17x11 street lites.....personally i like the rears tucked in a little, some like them out even with the fenders

That's interesting so to tuck them they suggest 5.5 backspace.

This. Tire tucks in and looks way better. Will need to do ALOT of bfh to clear but looks way better than the tire sticking out and looking like ***. 15x10 5.5 is what I would do.

Weld RTS here 15x10 with 4.5" BS. 3" narrowed per side. MT 275 Pro's. Fenders previously rolled, I love the fitment and it tucks up nicely but needs the rolled fenders.

Pictures are worth a thousand words!

I know alot of people recommend 5.5 backspace but 4.5 looks perfect to me.

Can you run anything bigger then a 275 on a 4.5 bacbackspace though? Mines a 5.5 on a 10" and fit a 295 or a 305 easy with out rubbing the 1/4s

Yea I can fit bigger. I just rolled my fenders and bfh modded the inner fender. Also running offset lca's and no bump stops.

Makes no since. 15 x10 4.5 backspace on a 3" narrowed rear will put the tire in the stock location so yes you can put a pretty big tire on if you want. 5.5 backspace WILL be harder to fit a big tire because it will pull the tire in about a 1" more than stock.

I have a rear narrowed 2" each side. I run a weld rts with 6.5" bs, looks nice and tucked, I bought Tt2s 17x11 with a recommended bs of 5.5" and it stuck out to much. I'd go 5.5" bs on a -3" rear.

So 5.5 inch backspace will pull the tire in?

I could maybe squeeze a 295 on there. 325 is too much IMO and unnecessary.... I have seen this 275 ET Pro hook way better than a 325 MT DR on the same car.
