Default Cleaning up forged aluminum wheels

So after neglecting my WS6 for a year or two, my FM5's, which are bare aluminum began to oxidize where water was running down them and pooling. The rust really isn't that bad (I will get pictures tonight) so what would be the best way to clean them up?

I plan on taking the apart to do so; can someone shed some light on that process too?

Also, where would you trust to have the tires R&I'd?

Before going through the PITA of dismounting, disassembly, remounting/balancing, I'd try a Mothers Power Ball polisher, and a jar of Blue Magic polish.

BTW, aluminum wheels DON'T rust.....
