Found my dream wheels but they were a bit rough!
I've wanted these wheels since I was about 17, 10 years ago, needless to say that they are my dream wheels! However, I could never afford them. I stumbled upon these and initially messaged the seller out of curiosity and we ended up working out a deal. It wasn't in my plans to get wheels and my financial advisor (wife) said I had to sell my wheels if I wanted those. I figure I would start that process of selling mine and they sold in three days! I messaged the seller and asked him to wait a week for me to pick them up, I live in OKC. He agreed and said it wouldn't be an issue. Well my car sat on jack stands for a long week before I went to pick these up down in Houston, while driving through a hurricane/monsoon (most rain I've even seen). It was literally raining hard for 7-8 hours and we just made it out of Houston before the highways flooded but I got them and it all worked out!
Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the previous owner never properly cared for these wheels. I can't complain though, it was a pretty good deal. So I got some Adam's Polishes metal Polish #1 and #2. I read up on how to use metal polishes and I read that cleaning up the black residue was a pain and to use corn starch. Well that wasn't the case! This stuff was so easy to use! I want to polish everything now, after my fingers get better it took me about an hour and half per wheel.
Y'all are here for the pics and here they are. Unfortunately weather has been shitty here so no outside pics yet.
This was just after the first coat of #1.
After #1 and #2
I'm so stoked at how they turned out! They still need a little more but that come in short segments.

Nice choice! They look great on your car and hopefully the deal you got made the trip worth it. Theyve always been on the top of my list as well. I've liked them for a long time as well and finally pieced together a set over the last year. You might look into a product called 'shineseal' (formerly zoop seal). It's a fairly easy application you use after polishing them. Helps to seal them up and prevent as frequent polishing sessions.
