Forgestar F14's (18x11) [PICS]

Finally after nearly a 2 month wait, my Forgestar F14's came in. My plan was to run a square 315 setup as I am an avid autocrosser/canyon carver. Also that way I can rotate tires. After reading around I decided to go with a +40mm offset on all four. Fast forward two months and here they are on the car:

Surprisingly, even though I went from a 17x9 to a 18x11, overall weight of my tire/wheel feels almost identical, have yet to weight them but Forgestars are ridiculously light.

Well done sir. Should peel your face off in the corners.

That looks real good

It already has

I still need to get an alignment as I replaced almost the entire front suspension (hubs, ball joints, bushings, tie rods... etc) but still this thing is on glue. I'm making 333hp/353tq and once tires get up to temps I cannot break the rear end loose, even on a 4000RPM clutch dump (Sorry 10 bolt).

Can't wait to see how she does at the next autox :D

That front end shot looks amazing, real wide! Is there any rubbing at full lock?

On full lock I think I may hear some rubbing, but otherwise it's fine. The rears took a while as I had to take a bfh to the wheel wells and had to grind down my bump stops a bit.

What kind of work did you have to do for them to fit? There must be some rubbing going on.. I see you have stranos in there.

It takes zero work to fit 315 front tires. If it does run anywhere, it will be a tiny spot on the plastic fender liner. It will self clearance, will not harm anything. This is really only the case when you run high caster in the alignment.

None. There's plenty of room for a big tire in the front. Just get the right offset and you should be good.

Yes big tires complement the koni/strano setup very well.

Didn't have to roll your fenders?

Rolled them a little, but not all the way as I was afraid of cracking my paint. So far I haven't had any issues with rubbing.

Looks awesome and very aggressive, I always though an 18x11 up front was too big of a tire, guess not!

Besides it now having INSANE performance/handling (you may be doing that SKF/Vette front hub conversion soon with those 888s up front :( ), that thing could not look any better than the supreme greatness it is, no matter what you did to it now!!! :thumb: :thumb:  :drive:

SICK RIDE!

Now, go KILL some Evos/STIs/etc. ;)

blackandgold 06-20-2016 08:31 PM

Probably going to need to switch to a proper bucket seat at some point too!

Thanks! Love surprising people who think an old solid rear axle GM pony car can't handle. These new wheels can only help :drive:

I was looking at those hubs, but they're a bit too much for me right now. What I did was pick up some Timkens from Autozone which come with a 3 year warranty. We'll see if I can make it that long

Yea these seats are horrible, need something light, comfortable and with a 5-pt harness.

^^^That car DESERVES Racetech shell seats, but yes, they ARE $$$$$$. :(

smitty2919 06-21-2016 06:28 PM

A Corbeau Forza seat will do the trick and won't break the bank.

I use this with a 5 pt harness and a 330mm suede wheel. Amazing how much more you are able to drive and not focus on keeping yourself from sliding around.

dailydriver 06-22-2016 03:41 PM

^^^Yes, THAT, and the NRG shell seats that Sam now sells/suggests are the current 'budget' options of choice. ;)
