Default Best tire for DD and street racing?

Im looking to put a 17x9.5 inch rim on my 99 Camaro. Was wondering the best size and type of tire to put on? I will have upgraded suspension, cam, intake, and stall. It's an auto. Any help would be appreciated

The standard size tire for a 9.5 wheel is a 275. The largest you could run would be a 285 on that wheel. I'm sure people have gone bigger, but I'm just stating the safe parameters. As far as tire choice, that all depends on a few factors. Such as your plans for the car, hp level, etc

Another big factor is the climate where you live. There will be a different set of choices for Phoenix than Syracuse. I can get away with summer tires year-round in San Diego. In Wichita, I need all-seasons.

I run nitto 555r drag radials, great traction at moderate power levels with an auto, still get alot of miles out of em. good compromise imo 275 on a 9.5 wheel

Ive been going through every thread thats exactly like yours OP. From reading previous members experience the bedt hooking is M/T.. but it seems that its the the most practical for a daily driver.

im running Bfg g force sports 275 on all fours.. no way my H/C and 4000 stall car will ever hook...lol. but i am strongly considering nitto 555r for the rears.

i just hate how nittos look all, but it seems to hook decently and still the best overall for daily driving.

For STREET RACING I suggest something with an 800 tread wear and about a 185 tread width all corners.

That would be best for us all.
