275's Ive been noticing that tire manufacturers are phasing out the 275/40/17! WHY?? |
New cars come with 20'' wheels from factory now. Tire manufactures need to keep up with newer demand I suppose. |
I kinda figured that, but theyre still thousands of vehicles with smaller wheels.... |
17x9s were only on select cars from the past, like corvettes and fbodies. Modern day cars are getting 18"+ wheels so tire manufactures are following the trend. There are still quite a few 275/40/17s available, most are performance oriented as they should be considering the car they are going on, so you won't find much if any all season type of tires. Check out the Nitto NT555 G2 if you want a street tire with stock-like wear but better grip. |
Yeah, im gonna go with the G2 NIttos. I had one that was patched twice and still leaking, so they were going to replace it. Since they don't make the tire I have anymore and I didn't want to have one off, I'm getting the whole set. They actually worked with me and are giving me full credit for two of the other tires. Tires only had like 3.5k miles on them...... |
