I recently sent a full set of OE Wheels (C5 Deep Dish 18 x 10.5 rear / 18 x 9.5 front) to a wheel widening company in California. Had my rears widened to 12.5". They said the rims are quite strong and well built. They do not widen wheels that are not very well built.

But OE Wheels hired the WORST chrome plater in all of China. They suck.....

My first set....chrome started falling off in 6 months. Second set of 4 wheels exact same wheels were sent to me, which I did not pay for......chrome started falling off in 3 months.

DO NOT GET CHROME.......

I'm in sunny South Florida man......chrome fell off in 6 months. All I ever used on them to clean was soap and water. I drove my car to 3 extremely good chrome shops in Ft. lauderdale....places that do chrome plating for $100 Million super yachts.....that hold up to salt water for years and years.

They all three told me that its 100% crappy prep work before the plating, and it seemed to be very light chrome plating.

After my rear wheels were widened.....I then sent all 4 wheels to a real chrome shop in California. They stripped them, prepped them, and re-chromed them.

Now they are BADASS.....

You're lucky. Many other members have told me the same horror stories of OE Wheels chrome.

Like I said.....I got a set, chrome came off. It took about 3 months to get OE Wheels to send me another set under warranty....which BTW, they refused to do. I just waited till they arrived, then reversed all charges on my credit card. OE Wheels actually tried to convince me that my brake dust ruined the chrome plating....LOL...LOL...LOL

So I got my free replacement set...MY way. Anyway, it was a new batch I had to wait for to come in before they could get them to me. So, totally new batch....GARBAGE.

So maybe they changed chrome platers.....who knows. But now....today....OE Wheels chrome plating is 100% garbage quality.

Up side....they are good quality wheels.....Thats why I spent the money to widen the rears and re-chrome them all properly.

Well I went with the chrome C6 ZO6 wheels will post some pics when I get them hopfully I have the same luck as the other member that have ordered them in chrome or they have fixed the passed problems, im sure they got tired of having to do so many returns or issuing new rims under warranty after awhile

Thats the thing....they don't cover them under warranty. They lie....and tell the customer that brake dust caused the chrome to fall off......LOL

But hopefully your chrome stays on. The first thing I saw on both sets was the bubbling....little tiny dots like acne pimples rising up all over the place. Thats from the shitty prep work before they chrome plate them. Then cracks....then pieces flaking off.

Or....if you really love the way the wheels look....send them off to get stripped and chromed by a real chrome professional. When all is said and done, you will have a set of wheels that should cost $3,000. But cost like $1,200 total.

Good luck.....
