When I had 555Rs they generally would hook or spin, once they spun they were done, like most radials. I could launch the same and they were unpredictable how they would react. That was with a 3200 converter. A Yank 4k will likely spin them every pass. That converter hits hard, see sig for details.

Every little thing you do helps, but it takes a lot to hook on that type of tire. My solution was just go to a slick, much more forgiving and I have street wheels for the street.

Well unfortunately I was mistaken I do not have 555r.. I have the original 555.. so I'm guessing that's even worse at the strip

Imo it would be a waste to go to the track with those tires.

Look at the toyo proxies tq. I went low 1.6 60' while driving the to the track with the ss4000. Pretty reasonable price. I'd get the mt et street s/s if you have another set of wheels and are driving to the track.

Toyo TQ are a great tire for a bolt-on stall car. Once cam/heads/intake go on then it's Mickey Thompson or Hoosier DR2 only.
