Default will 315/35/17 nitto 555r hookup at the track?

hey guys looking for some advice.. I have 98 Camaro all bolt ons and just installed built 4l60e with yank ss4000 converter 3.73 gears.. I would love to se what my 1/4 et is now with the converter but im broke like most of us and right now I have on the car 315/35/17 nitto 555r tires with a ton of tread I was wondering what you think about me running them.. is there a science to getting them to hook at the track or is it a waste of time

Not likely to hook super great unless the track is very well prepped and your suspension is working.

555R tires seem to like a very healthy burnout. I second the above post to try 20psi and work down to 16psi. Wouldn't go lower than that. You will likely end up around 17-18psi.

Those tires like heat. Like literally a John Force burnout. 3rd gear, 100 mph and let the smoke roll for a bit....

Those are the old crappy DeCarbons. Changing those to a good drag shock would help a lot

I know Competition Engineering and Viking make some good priced drag setups. I run the Koni STR.T's and paid less than $350 for a complete set of shocks and struts, but these are more of a handeling type setup

I just installed competition engineering rear shocks and umi torque arm relocation mount set it at stock setting hoping that's the right thing to do.. the rear end def feels a lot tighter an I also removed front sway bar I took it for a drive doing 70 around corners an I don't notice a difference so ill probly leave it off.. im going to the strip in a month ill air down the 555rs to 17 psi and give it a shot.. any other ideas to help traction a bit? as far as suspension I have SFC,tq arm relocation mount, lca, lca relocation mount, and a girdle cover to top it off hold on 10 bolt....
