How much room do you have between the tire and upper ball joint or a-arm ?

I finally had my F14 18x11 +45 gun metal wheels mounted last weekend. Real impressed by the Rival S tires (a week later I can still hear the tires tossing pebbles against the wheel wells), but now the rotors look small. I'm either doing a steering rebuild (boring!) or a AP Racing BBK (not boring!) kit next.

pics and how much clearance to upper ball joint or a-arm in the front?
at full hang

I can't see how you can even bolt them on without the tire hitting the a-arm?

This is the only photo I have at the moment. I'll see if I can get UCA clearance photos at the shop tomorrow.

I find it interesting there are 3 different offsets in this thread, 40/42/45. You would think by now we would have a standard 4th gen offset to work with.

Sam told me what he uses when I ordered. If I went lower, I'd never be able to get the wheel further tucked in if I wanted, so I chose to go a little higher (45) which would allow me to use a spacer for my goals.

It was difficult to take a picture of the top of the inside tire next to the spindle with the wheel mounted. The closest thing to rubbing was the tire, about a 3/8" gap when it was under full droop with the coilovers still mounted. I did see some rubbing on the sway bar arm, but I didn't pay attention to that when the old tires came off, so I don't know the source. There isn't any damage on the new wheels and nothing obvious on the new tires.
