Wich drag tires what tires to run on my 97 TA 6spd 4.10 gears 410rwhp? Mickey thompson et street R or the mickey thompson ss streets? I want a tire i can drive to the track but will hook up abd drive home again.i do not daily drive my car i havent had it in the rain yet but not saying it aint gona happen. And i only put maybe 1500 miles a yr on my car if that probly less than a 1000 miles per yr |
The Mickey Thompson ss will be more than enough. Although they are not great on the highway in the rain. Another tire to look at if you're considering the street R is the Hoosier Dr2. NEITHER are remotely a option in the rain. |
The R compound will hook better but wear faster. It depends on what you want |
I’ve been down the path with MT drag radials on a M6 4.10 fbody. Don’t bother. I once got below a 2.0 60’. It was either bog or spin every time. I now have 26x10.5x15 MT street R bias ply with skinnys up front. I can dump the clutch a 6000 rpm and pull 1.7 / 1.8 60’ times all day long with worn out decarb shocks and stock springs. |
i wouldnt put a drag radial on it. id run a 26" bias ply like the ET Street R Bias P/N 90000024651 |
Ya the 26” was another option. I actually have a brand new set of rims to do that skinnys up front and i got 15”x10” for the rears i was gona switch them out for the track. But i really liked the way the micheys look on the car nice wide stance |

Well they got the et street r in a radial and they have the ss in a radial. Only reason im considering radials i cant find many street legal skinnies that r dot approved to drive from the track and back in a bias tire i think M&H makes one |
ive run radial skinnies on the front with bias ply on the rear for years without an issue for what its worth |

The 26” tall M and H skinnies on 17” s77 weld rts wheels were 5 pounds lighter each then the sportsman’s in 15” s77 weld rts. |
Btw, even MT sportsman SR skinnies 26/6/17 are only rated for 1025 lbs. |
My car is close to the same power level as OP, but has 3.55:1 gears. Also an M6. I thought M/T made a 16" bias drag tire that was 26" tall? Has that been discontinued? I'd prefer not to grind on the calipers. Does that mean I'm stuck with 17's? |
I ended up getting mickeys 315/35/17s they hook great on the rd ill b trying the track here soon. Mickey et street r |

Yup pretty sure they are |
My Mickey T make my car shake bad at 70 get Nittos |
My car is lowered on Strano springs. I assume 28" tall tires will rub. Is this accurate? |
I had nittos and it shook at 70+mph so i donno |

Thank you. Looks like I'm back to 17" drag radials..... Hopefully the ET Street Rs hook better than Nittos. |
