Default OE WHEELS Stock ride height fitment

https://www.oewheelsllc.com/Camaro_C...heels_Tires136

This set of 17 inch C5 Z06 replicas have caught my attention and I was thinking about getting it, but my car (2001 Z28) is still at stock ride height. I'm currently on the stock 16 inch snowflake rims. I'd love to change out my shocks and springs, but I never have enough free time to do so.

Will putting on 17 inch rims make my car looks taller? I'm trying to avoid the whole monster truck look. Anyone have any pictures of their F-body on 17 inch Z06 wheels with stock shocks/springs?

The height can be determined by the sidewall of the tire. So you can make the 17 the same height as the 16

The tires that come with the Z06 replica rims are 275/40/17

that is a 26" tire. Exactly the same height you are currently running

Even though your 2001 Z28 came with 245/50/16 tires on the stock 16" wheels, they have the same overall tire height as a 275/40/17 (which is actually the stock tire size for the SS/WS6/Firehawks).

So the space between the tire top and the bottom of the wheel opening will be exactly the same with either tire size (245/50/16 vs. 275/40/17), and the car won't sit any higher overall. You can look at pictures of any stock SS to get an idea of what your Z28 would look like with this size wheel/tire combo at stock ride height.

Is there a way I can close the wheel gap without touching the suspension/shocks? Like getting rims larger than 17 inch?

Wheel diameter, by itself, won't matter in this regard (other than certain diameters perhaps having a greater selection of tire sizes). For example, going from 16s to 17s won't make any difference in that gap if you're going from a 245/50/16 to a 275/40/17 tire size (because both of those tires are the same overall height). You would need a taller tire, regardless of wheel diameter.

Having said that, you'll probably run into steering interference up front if you go with a tire tall enough to make a noticeable difference in that gap, unless perhaps you use a very narrow tire and optimize wheel offset for this purpose.
