Anyone using BFG g-Force T/A KD's?
Anyone using BFG g-Force T/A KD's? Apparently these are bitchin tires.... 
Anyone use them? According to the ratings, they have just as much traction, much better cornering, and better tread life than BFG DR's 
Sounds too good to be true to me. They are a bit pricey though...

I can't say anything about the KD's, but I have KDW's on my car and I LOVE them. I had Kumho Supra ECSTA712's on before and there is a night and day difference. Road noise is much lower, and handling was greatly improved.

I've heard BFG Comp T/A Drag Radials have been dicontinued. Last Monday I ordered some new BFG Drag Radials and when I recieved them they were G-Force Drag Radials. Apparantly the tires were just renamed, but they have the same tread design and compound as the Comp T/A's. And this has nothing to do with what you guys were talking about. Sorry for wasting your time.

The KDs are really great for grip, handling, and feel. The compound is almost an R compound and you can get them really sticky on the track or in the canyons. However, I've moved to LA since getting them (used to be in northern cal) and feel like I can never really use them like I used to. Additionally, one of my tires has a nasty gash in it most likely from one of those steel plates they use to cover up holes in the road.
So, if you're going to really use them, they're awesome and you'll instantly feel like you're a much better driver.
But if you're going to sit in traffic and drive on shitty city roads, get more durable and less expensive shoes.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I have read all of the reviews for this tire on Tire Rack.com, as well as for many other tires. All of the reviews are the same though. Most say they love the tire, or its the best one they have gotten. Oh well, I guess I will go with these, now I have to figure out which size.

Well Im going to chime in here. I used these tires for the ONe Lap Of America. If you dont know what One Lap is here's a quick overview. 10 days of driving(24/7) My car covered 7,500 miles, 150 road course mile, 1 heads-up drag, 1 bracket race, and 2 skid pad(Wet and dry). All at 8 different tracks. I used these tires and would run them again. There dry traction is close to r-tires, highway driving is great, low noise if you keep them rotated(3,000 miles) and a tire that has wet traction as well. I was running 1.5 dregrees of camber. Right now I have about 10,000 miles on them and I have taken about half of the measured tread off so I would figure about 5,000 more or about 2 weekend of road course racing. John

I just had a set put on my car back at the end of May. Had an unfortunate flat, that caused me to replace all 4 tires, due to the find I couldn't find a used F1 tire. So far I have to say they are a great tire. Can't say much for the wet traction due to the fact I try to get the car out in the rain as little as possible. When I have gotten caught in a downpour, I have to say that they're much better than my old F1's. They don't seem to want pull at all when hitting standing water. For dry traction, I think they are great. Haven't gotten a chance to make it to the track with them yet, but if things work out I'll be heading up there this weekend. Glad to hear I can get a little heat put in them unlike my F1's. Another nice selling point for me was the fact that the sidewall has a bead that protects the lip of my wheels from any curb rash. Not that I'm one to hit curbs, but my Dad got a couple of nice spots on the wheels when he drove it one day.

I had the KD's on my Cobra when I first got it and loved them.

I had a set of KD's on the T/A. They are a great Highway and road coarse tire. I liked the nittto 555r's better for everyday driving. The KD's would just roast compared to a DR under any hard acceleration. They would be my choice for the best all round tire. I enjoyed them very much.
